2022 Season Facility Improvements
2022 Season Facility Improvements

Year after year the SRC board continues to improve SRC for our members and community at large. Prior to the 2022 summer season opening and due to the City of Bellevue’s Somerset Reservoir Decommissioning Project, SRC is planning to redo the pool coping (the pool edge) and update the pool surface tiles while the pool is closed for the Reservoir Decommissioning Project.

As part of the City of Bellevue’s Somerset Reservoir Decommissioning Project, the city will be landscaping and providing SRC with a new facelift on the east hill. For those familiar with SRC, most of the entire vault and cement wall on the east side of the pool will be replaced with a new landscaped hillside. We are hopeful we will be able to add additional decking on this hill for even more opportunities for members to take in the incredible panoramic vistas of Lake Washington!

Due to some PSE work, we are also waiting on completing the finishing touches on the court – turf installation and electrical work to the existing tennis/pickleball courts’ lighting.

Our club president, Michael Ketchum continues the charge on the replacement of the old slide and for the first time in a year, it feels close to fruition. This has been an ongoing challenge with engineering and City of Bellevue requirements but we are optimistic that the end is in sight!  We will update membership on the timeline for installation as more information is available.

Finally, last year SRC topped trees to improve pool deck views, overhauled the pumphouse electrical system, and resurfaced the courts so they can be used for tennis, pickleball, badminton  and even a little halfcourt hoops!

Join us this year and make SRC your summer home! We’d love to have you!

As always, if you have questions, please contact our club President, Michael Ketchum!.
